What demographic trends will affect the U.S.?

According to the U.S. Census, by 2030, one in five Americans will be over age 65. The largest increase will be in the 85 and over segment of the population, due to health improvements and extended longevity of Baby Boomers.

In Los Angeles County, the 2010 census reported 1.1 million adults aged 65+. This number is predicted to double to 2.2 million within a decade. To succeed, business and government organizations must address the needs of an older population.

"Baby Busters" who follow the Boomer generation number about 56 million, while there are about 76 million Baby Boomers.
