About Gerobiz
Wendy Goldman founded GeroBiz Consulting in 1995 to address the critical aging issues facing business and legal services. She advocates for the rights of an escalating older population which, due to economic and social changes, want to—or need to—work past age 65, but face barriers that prevent them from opportunities due to common stereotypes about age.
Prior to management consulting, she worked in Broadcast Media and Qualified Pension Administration for Los Angeles entertainment companies, in union and nonunion environments, where she observed numerous cases of Age Bias. Her experience includes Litigation Consulting in financial services, insurance, and entertainment industries.
Ms. Goldman earned a Master of Business Administration/Master of Science in Gerontology from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
She holds a Certificate in Mediation Skills from the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, Dispute Resolution Program.
She is a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and attends ongoing training in Public Safety. In addition, she leads her local Neighborhood Watch group to reduce crime and prepare for both natural and other emergencies.
In her spare time, Ms. Goldman volunteers for several nonprofits that support refugees, people of color, and Women’s rights.
“Age Discrimination and Age Bias have become a serious threat to profits, through Employee turnover, recruitment, and workplace equity, as the percentage of older population has grown. In my consulting experience I’ve encountered executives at their most exposed, while at the same time I recognize the ways that Age Bias and Discrimination are routine, accepted, or ignored, while observing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion mandates. These choices have consequences at every stage of a Worker’s career, from their first job to their last days before retirement. Age Bias cannot be ignored. It is illegal.”
